Prachi Desai won the title 'Jhalak Dikhalaja' with 50 lakh rupees

18 year old Prachi Desai has won the 'Jhalak Dikhalaja', dance show for the celebrities beating Sandhya Mridul and Jay Bhanushali to win the title on Sony Television here.

Winner's name was announced by Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar. Katrina Kaif was also present and performed dance. It was sad that Jay was the first to be eliminated out of three.

Despite Prachi was eliminated a month ago she won the hearts of people after her comeback through wild card entry. Jeetendra, Shiamak Davar and Urmila Matondkar were the celebrity judges on the show. The two-and-a-half hour show saw performances by participants who were eliminated earlier, besides Akshay and Katrina.

Mukesh Ambani is now the world's richest man

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani on Monday became the richest person in the world, surpassing American software czar Bill Gates, Mexican business tycoon Carlos Slim Helu and famous investment guru Warren Buffett, courtesy the bull run in the stock market.

Following a strong share price rally on in his three group company, India's most valued firm Reliance Industries, Reliance Petroleum and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure Ltd, the net worth of Mukesh Ambani rose to $63.2 billion (Rs 2,49,108 crore).

In comparison, the net worth of both Gates and Slim is estimated to be slightly lower at around $62.29 billion each, with Slim leading among the two by a narrow margin.

Warren Buffett, earlier the third richest in the world, also dropped one position with a net worth of about $56 billion.

Ambani's wealth of about Rs 2,49,000 crore includes about Rs 2,10,000 crore from RIL (50.98 per cent stake), Rs 37,500 crore from RPL (37.5 per cent) and Rs 2,100 crore from RIIL (46.23 per cent).

Slim's wealth has been calculated on the basis of his stake in companies like America Movil (30 per cent), Carso Global (82 per cent), Grupo Carso (75 per cent), Inbursa (67 per cent), IDEAL (30 per cent) and Saks Inc (10 per cent).

According to information available with the US and Mexican stock exchanges where these companies are listed, Slim currently holds shares worth a total of $62.2993 billion, with more than half coming from Latin American mobile major America Movil. Slim is closely followed by Gates with a net worth of $62.29 billion currently.

Earlier last month, US business magazine Forbes had named Gates as the richest American with a net worth of $59 billion, calculated as on August 30. The magazine had said that a movement of two dollars in the share price for Microsoft, the world's biggest software maker, could "add or subtract a billion dollars" from his wealth.

Since August-end, Microsoft's share price has risen by $6.58 (based on yesterday's closing on Nasdaq at $35.03), which results into a gain of $3.29 billion in Gates' wealth based on Forbes assumption.

Besides a stake in Microsoft, Gates' wealth also includes the commission and license fees earned by him and gains through his shares in an investment holding company that invests across the market.

Gates is followed by Buffett at the fourth place in the league of the world's richest with a net worth of $55.9 billion through his holding in his investment vehicle Berkshire Hathaway and in other companies. At the end of August, Buffett's wealth stood at $52 billion, as per the Forbes magazine. Berkshire Hathaway's share price has gained by about 7.5 per cent since then.

Earlier on September 26, Ambani had overtaken steel czar Lakshmi Mittal to become the richest Indian in the world.

Mittal currently ranks as the fifth richest in the world with a net worth of $50.9 billion through his 44.79 per cent stake in world's biggest steel maker ArcelorMittal.

While most of Mittal's wealth comes from his steel empire, though he has also spread his wings into businesses like oil and real estate, those of Ambani and Gates are mostly through petrochemicals and software respectively. However, Buffett and Slim are making money from investments across a host of sectors.

It is the first of its kind comedy show on television that paired stand-up comedians with television actors for live performances. After 12 weeks of some superlative as well as good, average and bad performances and some below the belt humour from the six jodis that witnessed evictions and wild card entries, the show will reach the finale this Saturday with Ali Asgar and Kashif Khan winning the Comedy Circus title as well as Rs. 25 lakhs in prize money. However, Comedy Circus will not go off air. Thanks to its popularity, the show has been given a six-week extension.

But for the next one and half months Lage Raho Comedy Circus will not be a competition but only showcase comic expertise of three old and one new jodi. Also Satish Shah and Johnny Lever who judged the show will be conspicuous by their absence. Only Archana Puran Singh will sit in the judge’s chair and each week she will be joined by a new celebrity judge. "Since the concept went down well with viewers we are making the participants show their comic skills for a few weeks more. The idea is to have more fun," says Vipul D. Shah, MD and head of creative services, Optimystix that produces the show. "The six episodes will have different themes and there will be performances even by the celebrity guest judges."

Among the television actors who will perform on the show for the first time include Sucheta Pawse and Sudha Chandran. Reema Lagu, Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar and Bappi Lahiri are some of the guest judges. Vipul denies that Satish and Johnny have quit the show. "On the contrary, after the grand finale we didn’t want them to do the show because it is no more a competition and therefore there is no judging. Both are excellent comedians and have an image of their own. We didn’t want to dilute their brand equity by having them on the show which is not a contest anymore," clarifies Vipul, adding, "Satish and Johnny will come back in Comedy Circus when the show returns with a new season in January next year."

More and more people are catching the fever. Dreams of a mansion in the hills, early retirement, or just being able to supplement the regular income…everyone wants to sell on the Internet. There are pundits out there who claim that the ECommerce wave is over. That "dot-coms" are crashing.

What they don't mention is that it's the over-capitalized, top-heavy dot-coms that are dropping out. The ones that raised millions of dollars, rented fancy office suites and paid WAY too much money for overdone web sites, trainloads of products, and national TV advertising.

This is a good thing for you and me. It paves the way for small, home-based Internet businesses to carve out our own chunk of the multi-billion dollar ECommerce pie. Ecommerce is riding a wave that won’t break, no matter what the talking heads say. If anything, it's going to get bigger. There IS money to be made, and plenty to go around.

How, though, can you even start your own internet business when you may not even know how to get past the “Start” button on your computer? They don't care if you EVER sell a single product. Most of them don't stock those products anyway. They simply have a "drop shipping" arrangement with the REAL wholesale supplier. If you ever DO sell something, all they have to do is send an email to the REAL supplier, and have the product sent to your customer. (Of course, they make a profit on THAT, too).

They make it look as easy as possible to you, hoping you’ll send them your money. Then all they have to do is click a few buttons and hook you up with a useless Internet Store that SEEMS to work. While you’re trying to figure out (a) why your "store" doesn’t make any money, and (b) why you suddenly can’t get ahold of the magician who sold you your “store” and disappeared, said magician will be whistling a happy tune all the way to the bank. With YOUR money.

Don’t let it happen! Here’s my number one rule concerning the Internet: If it seems to good to be true, it IS too good to be true!

Actually, that’s not even my rule. You know you’ve heard it before. It’s simple common sense. It’s probably been around since the first caveman stumbled over a sleeping bear, and thought he had dinner all locked up!

If it seems too good to be true, it IS too good to be true. How quickly that simple common sense statement flies out the window when someone promises you money!

Be smart. You may only have one chance to take your future in your own hands. Don’t hand that one chance over to one of the thousands of scam artists who will lie to your face and leave you with nothing without the slightest twinge of conscience. Their sites look professional, they sound like they know what they're talking about, and they can't wait to get their hands on your money and run.

I’ve literally seen hundreds of people taken by these scams. I’ve only seen and talked to these people because after they get scammed, they keep at it and try again. They eventually end up at our web site, looking over this free information. I hate to think about the tens of thousands of people who have been scammed once, and have given up for good.

As I said, there are good Internet Store solutions out there, but there are not many of them. You need to be sure you work with a reputable company when setting up your Internet Store.

So, with that said, where do you start this whole process of selling on the Internet, and doing it the RIGHT way?

Probably the best place is a quick review of how retail sales works.

1.) A factory produces a product. Factories don't want to get involved in SELLING products to individual Retail Stores. They're too busy MAKING the products. So, they sell huge amounts of the product to a wholesale distributor, all at once.

2.) The wholesale distributor adds a bit to the price of each product, and generally sells them in bulk to a retail store.

3.) The retail store breaks open the cartons, adds to the price of each individual product (their “markup”) and sells the products to its customers.

Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? Well, it IS simple, when you’re the customer. All you have to do is walk into your local Dogs A’ Scratchin store, pick up a can of flea powder for your dog Baldy, pay at the register, and you’re on your way.

However, when YOU become the retailer, there are other things to think about. When you OWN the Dogs A’ Scratchin store, you have to pay rent for the building. You have to decide which products you’re going to fill your valuable shelf space with. You have to decide which newspapers, TV and radio stations you’re going to advertise with this month, to bring in new customers. You’ve got to order your products. Pay your distributors. You’ve got to replace damaged inventory, because Mrs. Nelson’s wiener-dog went charging down aisle four wearing that lampshade-thingy around his neck, and crashed into your brand new display of Kitty Perfume.

Selling on the Internet is no different. An Internet Store is a living, breathing business, and there are things to learn and things to consider when you build and run it. You need to create and run your business yourself. If you let some chucklehead tell you that all you have to do is mail in three cereal box tops and fifty dollars, and they’ll do it all for you, you might as well save the cereal. You’ll need to eat SOMETHING when you lose your money.

Evaluating Job Listings

Check Out the Job Listings

If it isn't listed in the job posting, find out if there's a salary or if you're paid on commission. For work at home jobs, ask how often are you paid and how you are paid. Ask what equipment (hardware/software) you need to provide.

You Won't Get Rich Quick (Really)

Avoid listings that guarantee you wealth, financial success or that will help you get rich fast. Stay clear of listings that offer you high income for part-time hours. They will do none of the above.

Hang on to Your Money

Do not send money! Legitimate employers don't charge to hire you or to get you started. Don't send money for work at home directories or start-up kits.

Check References

Ask for references if you're not sure about the company's legitimacy. Request a list of other employees or contractors to find out how this has worked for them. Then contact the references to ask how this is working out. If the company isn't willing to provide references (names, email addresses and phone numbers) do not consider the opportunity.

Think Twice

If it sounds too good to be true, you can be sure it is! Also, read any "offers" you get very carefully. One candidate for employment got a very detailed job offer from an employer. The only problem was that she hadn't applied for the job and buried deep within the lines was a request for her bank account information, so the employer could pay her. It was a scam, of course, but with some of the well-written ones it can be hard to tell.

Assembly Jobs

- No, you can't make lots of money assembling craft kits or any other type of kits. You can waste money on a package to get you started though.

Data Entry Jobs

- You'll see lots of listings for data entry jobs. They are usually either positions posting ads or a sales pitch for a kit that will get you started.

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)

which involves recruiting new people, and more new people, to sell the product. If all you are doing is trying to find more people to do what you're doing, keep in mind that there are probably thousands of other people attempting to do the same thing. None of them are getting rich.

Online Businesses

- Do you want to start your own online business and get rich? Be very wary of these type of ads too. What you will do is end up paying for a guide to working at home which duplicates information you can find free.

Posting Ads

- There are lots of ads saying workers are needed to post ads on online bulletin boards and forums. You don't get paid to post, rather you may get paid if other people sign-up.

Processing Claims

- In order to get "hired" you'll need to buy equipment, software and pay for training.

Stuffing Envelopes

- Believe it, or not, there are still people saying that you can earn $3 or $4 per envelope to stuff them. You can't. All major companies have postage machines which stuff, sort and meter mail.

New form of Nigerian scam

You have probably seen so-called Nigerian scam e-mails sent by purportedly rich persons, who need to discreetly move money to bank accounts in US, UK or other countries abroad. They ask you to help them by using your bank account in exchange for a large share of a sum that needs to be transferred. Scammers might also send you "official" documents and other real looking stuff. Then they usually ask you to give them a loan (thousands of dollars or even more), so that they could bribe someone in a bank in order to move a big sum to your account.

Of course, you don't get your share, and scammers simply steal your money. That's how the scam works. But no one falls for it today. That's why criminals decided to introduce a new form of Nigerian scam.

Now you receive a letter not from a stranger in Nigeria, but from an American soldier in Iraq. "The soldier" writes that he has found a treasure, a lot of gold or diamonds, and needs to move money home. However, he cannot do this alone, so he asks you for help. Just like in a classic scam, you have to give him money he needs in exchange for a share of found wealth. Needless to say, that you won't be paid. You just loose your money.

Why criminals are using a story involving an American soldier? The answer is simple. New form of Nigerian scam is targeting primarily Americans. They won't believe a Nigerian, but some of them might trust US soldier, especially if a letter is written in good English, and "a soldier" is seriously injured. A lot of people would try to do something to help a fellow American.

Even if you are an American and a great patriot, DO NOT fall for this scam! Sending your money to someone you don't know is foolish.
